About Us
With a lifetime of experience in various sales positions, Randy was well prepared to enter the real estate profession in 2006 as part of a successful Niagara real estate team. Over the past 5 years he has been involved in over 250 transactions. A lifelong resident of the Niagara Region, Randy has at various points lived in North St. Catharines, Louth, Port Dalhousie, West St. Catharines, Jordan, Beamsville, Grimsby, Vineland, Fenwick, and Mid-town St. Catharines, which gives him an excellent knowledge of the Niagara Region.
Randy has been happily married to Pam for years and the two have been blessed with 4 wonderful children, Darryl, Helana, Noah & Matthew.
Evelina Sikkema joined the team as Randy’s assistant in January of 2010. Evelina has worked in various administrative positions since graduating from Laura Secord Secondary School in 2001. She comes to the Your Niagara Home Team with strong computer and bookkeeping skills, as well as the ability to keep projects "on course". Evelina maintains contact with our clients throughout the selling process, including sending weekly Activity Reports, indicating the amount of interest the listing is receiving from both the public and from other Realtors®. With exceptional customer service skills, Evelina has been a great addition to our team.
Our Logos
The first thing that came to my head when I started in the real estate business was using a rook as my logo. For those of you unfamiliar with chess, the rook is the castle piece, and starts at the far ends of the back row of pieces on both sides. A rook moves forward, backward, and side to side, but not diagonally.
Using a rook piece as a logo made sense to me on many levels:
First is the fact it is a castle, and we all know, “your home is your castle”. This presents a natural association with houses. There is security implied by a castle, meaning you can feel safe in it, and trust it to protect you. As a Realtor ®, I want my clients to trust me, and secure in the decisions that they make, with my assistance.
Secondly, a chess piece implies movement. Real estate is all about helping you move. Whether moving from home to home, or moving your money into a strong secure investment.
Thirdly, chess is recognized as a game of skill and strategy. I like to think that using me as your Realtor ® is a good strategic decision.
Finally, by choosing a black rook, I get a classic black on white look that I feel is clean, professional, and “no nonsense”.
For our website logo I was looking for something that incorporated the rook, but had some more pizzazz. I needed the home page and website title to jump out and be memorable.
Niagara is very dear to me. I was born and raised here, found and married my wife here, was educated here, worship here, work here, play here, and am now raising my four children here. Having the title, “Your Niagara Home” lets both Niagara residents and those looking to perhaps move to Niagara know that this area can truly be your home. There is so much to explore and enjoy in the Niagara Region, and I would be proud to introduce you to Your Niagara Home. So to communicate this in a logo was a challenge. The graphic designer took the rook, added a compass signifying the 12 municipalities in Niagara, and really emphasized the word “home”. The result is a colourful bold logo, with easily readable and memorable words… Your Niagara Home.
